‘The Connectivity matrix of mobile health: pieces of the digital puzzle’

Thijs defended his PhD at the 20th of March 2019 under supervision of Prof. dr. Lars Grieten en dr. Valerie Storms. Thijs tackled the back-end connectivity issues of the technological and mobile innovations in healthcare by investigating the added value of a infrastructural platform to connect, aggregate and handle big data and health-related information. In addition, Thijs explored essential components of mobile health services, aided in the development of a vendor-independent mobile health research platform to facilitate clinical mHealth research, explored the usage of an e-learning platform for patients in the domain of cardiac rehabilitation and investigated the influence of patient characteristics on adherence rate and the perceptions of remote monitoring in the domain of high-risk pregnancies.
