‘ Towards more integrated care for patients with atrial fibrillation’
At the 17th of September 2018 Lien presented her hard work of the previous 4 years to her PhD committee and the audience. Her PhD titled ‘Towards more integrated care for patients with atrial fibrillation’ under supervision of Prof. dr. Hein Heidbuchel focused on patients suffering from AF and how to educate them better, anticipate better to their needs and providing them a better care cycle by improved follow-up. Lien performed her PhD supported by LCRC, MHU and Jessa hospital. She used mHealth applications for faster and easier diagnosis of AF and remotely follow-up the patients’ medication intake. She tried to educate patients better using eHealth tools because many patients don’t fully understand their condition.
We want to congratulate Lien and wish her a nice future as project coordinator of the postdoctoral project in collaboration with Hasselt University and the University of Antwerp.
