On the International Day of the Midwife (3th of May 2016, Dworp) the VBOV (“Vlaamse Beroepsorganisatie van vroedvrouwen”) awarded Marlene Reyns with the price for the best bachelor thesis in Midwifery. Sarah de Jonghe and Shana Wouters achieved the second place in this competition with their thesis: ‘The role of the Midwife when Remote Monitoring is used in the Obstetrical Care’.

Both students from PXL-Healthcare achieved this project under supervision of Mw Jill Smets, MSc Valerie Mass, MSc Dorien Lanssens & Prof. Dr. Wilfried Gyselaers. Their work is a fine example of a succesful cooperation between PXL Healthcare, Mobile Health Unit-Hasselt University and Hospital East-Limburg.

Their thesis is eligible for a publication in ‘Tijdschrift voor Vroedvrouwen’, a professional journal which is published six times a year by the VBOV association, and the students also receive a prize of €250.

Congrats to Sarah and Shana!
