MHU was present during the teambuilding event of Regionaal Landschap Kempen & Maasland (RLKM).
During the teambuilding 5 different teams covered different tracks in the beautiful and ecological environment of the Connecterra park. Of each team 1 individual was supplied with a Mio Alpha smartwatch and a smartphone to track heart rate, as well as the total distance, speed and location in the park.
IMOB, the Institute of Mobility of Hasselt University, MHU, RLKM and students of Industrial Engineering Sciences from Hasselt University are developing a smartphone application to optimize park management and park experience. This app should map the different tracks in the park, with implementation of the degree of difficulty, the most beautiful panoramic views, which animals to expect, etc. As a plus, the app wants to include health tracks in already existing tracks via measurement of the heart rate. The main purpose of this app is to visualize and evaluate the physical fitness of the users, and in terms to even improve their general well-being.
