Belli is a smartphone application developed by Bloom, a spin-off of IMEC.  At this moment, Belli registrates uterine contractions and maternal heart rate. In the future Belly will also be able to detect fetal heart rate and fetal movements. One of the advantages of the Belli app, is that pregnant woman can use the app at home. The data from the app could be shared with a midwife or gynaecologist to review. Premature birth could be detected early in this way.

The Belli app is validated by the Mobile Health Unit @ Hospital East-Limburg, the only hospital in the European region who is currently testing this new application.
